Ajman is the smallest and poorest of the emirates in the
United Arab Emirates. Capital: Ajman. It has an estimated area of 100sq. mi.
(250 sq. km.). Ajman's first act as an autonomous entity was entering into a
treaty with Great Britain in 1820. On December 02, 1971 Ajman became one of the
six original members of the United Arab Emirates.
